She was predeceased by: her husband Wadie Thompson; her daughters, Magreta Davis and Cynthia Jobert; her parents, Anna Gailes and Charles Augustus; her siblings, Joseph Warren Auguste, James Auguste and Janice Gailes; and her son-in-law Davy Forsythe.

She is survived by: her children, Gregory Kennerson, Angelia Keys (Vickie) and Katherine Forsythe; and her sister Joyce Milburn. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 at 8:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
