With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vincent Simien Jr. (Opelousas, Louisiana), who passed away on October 11, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Simien and Beatrice Simien; his siblings, Harry, Harold Bernard, Paul, Roland, Augustus, Burnell Paul, John, Manuel, Elsie Luck, Rosie Mae, Laura Mae Phillips, Della Mae, Donna Bolden, Marie Carter, Rose Kyles and Jo Ann; and his daughter-in-law Margo.
He is survived by: his wife Mercedes Lastrapes; his sons, Donald, Keith (Jacqueline), Clyde (Patricia) and Gregory; his siblings, Gerald Patrick (Chantel) and Sylvia Ann; his grandchildren, Kaili, Keith II, Clyde II, Sade', Alyce, Taylor, Sydni, Gregory II, Lance Andrus and Chaze Zenon; his godchild Seleta Lemelle; and his great grandchildren, Greyson and Kayli Grace. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A wake will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 8:00 AM at the Holy Ghost Parish Life Center (732 N Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
