She was predeceased by: her parents, Beatrice Carriere Smith and Hilliard Smith, Sr.; her siblings, Sarah Augman, Mary Louise "Gail" Smith, Delores Smith, Nathaniel Smith, Alfred Smith, Hilliard Smith, Jr. and Huey Smith; her daughters, Annette May, Jeanette May, Rosetta May and Marva May; her grandson Manley Jackson, Jr.; her godchild Hilliard Alvin Smith; and her son-in-law Melvin Fields.
She is survived by: her brother Arthur James Smith of Patterson, Louisiana; her children, Sherial May of Patterson, Louisiana, Sylvia Fields of Patterson, Louisiana, Marvin May III of Patterson, Louisiana, Beatrice May of Patterson, Louisiana, Julia Sterling (Carl) of Patterson, Louisiana, Judy May of Mableton, Georgia, Karen May of Gray, Louisiana, Lois Palmer (Linzie) and Caprice Britt (Kelvin) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and her godchildren, Viola Williams of Patterson, Louisiana and Arthur James Smith of Patterson, Louisiana.
