He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl J Melancon, and Elizabeth "Dell" Melancon, Sr.; his brother Larry Melancon; his niece Lindsey Melancon; and his father-in-law Lawrence Melancon, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Melancon Melancon; his daughters, Jennifer Vosburg (Ryan) and Dr. Michelle LeBlanc (Ken); his grandchildren, Tyler, Luke, Nicholas Vosburg, Kate, Landree and Korryn LeBlanc; his brothers, Earl J Melancon, Jr. (Pam), Ronnie Melancon (Rhonda), Craig Melancon (Stephanie) and Steven Melancon; and his siblings-in-law, Dr. David Melancon (Shirley), Randall Melancon (Lisa), Dr. Daniel Melancon (Gayle) and JoEllen Bourgeois (David). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
