He is survived by: his wife Bettye Erwin of Pineville; his children, James Erwin of Pineville, Ronnie Erwin (Pam) of Ball, Charlie Slaughter (Dennis) of Pollock and Shelby Beeson of Pineville; and his sister Joyce Carter of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
