He is survived by: his children, Howard Jerald "Jay" Rush, III of New Orleans and Joni Rush Oates (Richard) of Pineville; his grandsons, Richard Joseph "Rich" Oates, Jr. of Pineville, Davis Walker Oates of Pineville and Westin Lewis Oates of Pineville; his siblings, K. Ray Rush (Sharon) of Oakdale and Kelly Rush Savoy (Patrick Savoy) of Oakdale; and his siblings' children, Dr. Laura Rush Petty, Daniel Ray Rush, Dr. David Alan Rush, Jessica Smith Hymel, Dr. Rush Alan Williams and John Ross Williams.
