He is survived by: his children, Khristi Bryson (Terry) of Pineville and James Nelson Gowan, Jr. (Wendi) of Mineola; and his great grandchildren, Khristen Pippin, Connor Shumate, Eli Pippin and Amelia Pippin. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
