He was predeceased by: his wife Yvonne Hakes; his granddaughter Jennifer Rine; and his brother Donald Hakes. He is survived by: his children, Michael Hakes (Cathy), Billy Hakes (Jan), Susan Crooks, Sandra Rine (Clint) and Karen Moulder; and his grandchildren, Jason Hakes, Matt Hakes, Marcee Bordelon, Chris Crooks, Ashley Dennard, Lauran Moulder and Megan Murdoch. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
