Melvyn Douglas Bowie Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melvyn Douglas Bowie of Pineville, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 19, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Bowie and Beatrice Bowie; his son Tracy Bowie; and his sisters, Gladys Derryberry and Anita Brasher.
He is survived by: his significant other Ruth Bowie; his sons, Doug (Karla), Michael (Jennifer) and Arthur Foret (Christina); and his grandchildren, Kelsie Briggs (Cody), Austin Bowie, Alexis Foret, David Foret and Eric Foret. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Pineville (2701 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA 71360). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
