With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carolyn Sue Mitchell of Pitkin, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 22, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Almond McDonald and Oleta McDonald; and her sisters, Doris Cartwright, Donna Jean Maricle, Alva Lee Perkins and Shirley Ann Dauzat.
She is survived by: her husband Clifton Mitchell, Jr. of Pitkin; her son Chris Mitchell of Leesville; her brother Jimmy McDonald (Margie) of Pitkin; her grandsons, Conner Mitchell of Baton Rouge and Justin McCann (Nicole) of England; her great grandchildren, Eli McCann, Liam McCann and Azalea McCann; and her nieces, Melissa Thetford (Josh) and Gaynelle Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rush Funeral Home - Oakdale (113 S 11th St, Oakdale, LA 71463). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blue Branch Cemetery (13408 LA-10, Pitkin, LA 70656).
