It is with sadness that the passing of Karen Elizabeth Heaps of Ponchatoula, Louisiana is shared. Karen, born on September 29, 1962, passed away on June 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Karen will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. She was predeceased by: her husband Stephen Heaps; her siblings, Donna Mazzella Benson and Larry Joseph Mazzella; and her parents, Thomas Allen Mazzella, Sr. and Mary Alice Davidson Mazzella.
She is survived by: her sons, Sean Stephen Heaps (Stephanie) and Cory James Heaps (Morgan); and her sister Barbara Rose Mazzella Miller (Mark). She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Down Syndrome Society.
