He was predeceased by: his parents, Dannie Sr. Hartley and Imogene Southall Hartley; his brother Dannie "Slim" Roger Hartley Jr.; and his niece Marlena Kauffman. He is survived by: his sons, James Stanton Hartley Jr. (Megan Jones) and Adam Joseph Hartley; his siblings, Janet Lynn Hartley Landry (Aaron) and Steven Wayne; his nephews, Jason Thurmond (Esmeralda) and Chad Landry (Meagan); his niece Kaci Landry; his grandchildren, Lucille, Carter Hartley, Airyana Jade Hebert, Gracie-Jean Rydeen and Adrien-Jo Hartley; and his former wife Lori Ricks.
