He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Richard of Port Barre, LA; his children, Perry Fontenot (Cassandra) of Newport News, VA, Dwayne Fontenot (Monica) of Opelousas, LA, Angela Durousseau (John) of York, PA and Francis Gabel (John) of Plaisance, LA; his siblings, Paul Richard of Port Barre, LA, Antoine Richard of Port Barre, LA, Martin Richard of Houston, TX, Elvina Murray of Sulphur, LA, Annie Malveaux of Washington, LA, Theresa Stroud of Kansas City, KS, Esther Johnson of Harvey, LA and Bernadette Thomas of Port Barre, LA; his grandchildren, Carrington, Cartrell, Jay, Colby, Justin, Jeremiah, Adriana, Syleena, Makenzie and Sasha; and his great grandchildren, Paisley, Chloe, Metztli, Koda and Briley.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 7:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church. A rosary will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 8:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
