He was predeceased by: his wife Betty; his daughters, Pauline Scruggins Fontenot (Cricket) and Donna Scruggins Deville; and his parents, Preston Scruggins and Lilian Lahaye Scruggins.
He is survived by: his son Barry Scruggins (Sherry); his grandchildren, Michelle Diaville (Clyde), Trisha Fontenot, Brandon Scruggins (Amber), Brandy Deville, Kyle Deville (Amanda) and Jamie Prescott (Drew); his great grandchildren, Nicole, Nicolas, Braylen, Cameron, McKenzie, Mason, River, Madalynn, Connor, Maddie, Jackson and Weston; his sisters, Debra Ortego, Peggy Romero and Judy Credeur; his pet Cricket; and his siblings, Robert, Tommy, Lee, Jerry, Lou, May and Myrtle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:45 PM at the Sibille Funeral Home (402 N Saizon St, Port Barre, LA 70577). A rosary was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre (407 Saizan Ave, Port Barre, LA 70577).
