She is survived by: her husband Burly Hicks; her children, Latasha Pickney-Joseph (Quinn) of Washington, LA and Donald Pickney Jr. of Port Barre, LA; her stepchildren, Joseph Thompson, Leon Thompson and Shameka Thompson; her grandchildren, Trekeisha Pickney (Adrien Jr.) of Opelousas, LA and DeJuan Pickney of Oklahoma; her great grandchildren, TaShawn, Bryla, De'Nae, Bry'er, De'Mari, Pandora, Zaccheaus, Aspen, Zaire, Avery Chance and Amira Charm; and her siblings, Rita Robinson of Opelousas, LA, Debra Boast of Port Barre, LA, Mackie Thomas (Dennis) of Port Barre, LA, Joseph Clifton Boast (Linda) of Opelousas, LA, Jason Boast of Port Barre, LA. and Kenneth Boast of Port Barre, LA.. She is also survived by uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, other relatives, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (417 Saizan Ave, Port Barre, LA 70577).
