He was predeceased by: his parents, Dalton Benoit and Evelyn Benoit; his daughter Shelly Benoit; his siblings, Janice "Jan" Burghdoff (Jack) and Virgil "Bo" Benoit; his great grandchild Anniston Bazar; and his niece Nicole "Nikki" Burghdoff Colfelt (Mitch).
He is survived by: his wife Hazal Credeur Benoit of Port Barre; his daughters, Melodie Benoit Meche (Daniel) of Port Barre and Kayla Benoit Fromenthal (Charles) of Baton Rouge; and his grandchildren, Reesa Meche Bazar (Corey), Michon Meche Delahoussaye (Michael), Rico Meche, Kelsey Landry Lavergne (Hal Lavergne, Jr.), Sgt. Bryce Fromenthal and Cpt. Drake Fromenthal. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Sibille Funeral Home (402 N Saizon St, Port Barre, LA 70577). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Church (407 Saizan Ave, Port Barre, LA 70577). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 1:45 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery (417 Saizan Ave, Port Barre, LA 70577).
