He was predeceased by : his brothers, Jake "J. C." Matherne, Kirlin "Nookie" Matherne, Jerry "Pee-Wee" Matherne, Willie Matherne, Clarence "Buck" Matherne, Robert "Bobby" Matherne (Betty Zeringue) and Falgout.

He is survived by : his sons, Kim Matherne, John Matherne and Dean Matherne; and his granddaughters, Claire Marie Matherne and Taura Jolie Matherne.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 9:00 AM at the St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church (333 Twin Oaks Dr, Raceland, LA 70394). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
