He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Matherne and Olympia Rivet Matherne; and his siblings, Edmond, Morrison, Norman, Tilman, Herman, Wilbert, Devas, Earline Matherne and Madeline Falgout.
He is survived by: his wife Jeannette Gervais Matherne; his son Norris Matherne (Susan); his grandchildren, Dr. Ryan Matherne (Michele) and Lindsey Boudreaux (Jake); and his great grandchildren, Amelia Boudreaux, Audrey Boudreaux, Elizabeth Zamora and Mary Cate Zamora. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Mary Nativity Church (3500 LA-1, Raceland, LA 70394). A Mass will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Mary Cemetery (3500 LA-1, Raceland, LA 70394).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that mass intentions be offered or prayers said for the repose of the soul of Harrison.
