He was predeceased by: his wife Gracie "Peachie" Cook Sonnier; his parents, Felix Sonnier and Josephine Dupre Sonnier; and his siblings, Bertha Sonnier, Mary Elda Sonnier Francis, Willie "Pat" Sonnier, Percy Sonnier and Felix "Joe" Sonnier.
He is survived by: his children, Judith Sonnier of Baker, LA, Grover Lee Sonnier (Sharon) of Moreno Valley, CA and Paul Sonnier (Janet) of Clinton, UT; his grandchildren, Derek Sonnier, Tracie Sonnier, Lance Sonnier, Cherron Sonnier-Vaden, Alexis Sonnier, Paul Sonnier, Jr. and Brittany Sonnier; his nieces, Pearlie Mae Arceneaux and Mary Linda Sonnier; and his nephew Nicholas Hogan. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
