He is survived by: his wife Linda Thibodeaux Abshire; his children, Jason Paul Abshire and Lisa Abshire Gautreaux (John James Gautreaux); his grandchildren, Makenzie Abshire, Matthew Abshire, Andrew Abshire, Emily Abshire, Logan Gautreaux and Owen Gautreaux; his siblings, Danny Abshire (Faye Hebert Abshire), Billy Abshire (Mary Dupont Abshire), Bobby Abshire (Kimala Nugent Abshire) and Janet Abshire Richard (Chris Richard); his mother-in-law Dorothy "Dot" Breaux LeBlanc; his siblings-in-law, Judy Thibodeaux LaVergne (Randal LaVergne) and Joe Thibodeaux (Robin Daigle Thibodeaux); and his godchildren, Mica Quebodeaux Smith (Jason Smith), Corey Richard and Heather Hanks Richard.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Northside Assembly of God (809 E Northern Ave, Crowley, LA 70526).
