He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kasper Meyer and Anna Marie Habetz Meyer; and his siblings, Joseph "Dutch" Meyer, Henry "Fats" Meyer, Leonard "Johnny Boy" Meyer, Antoinette Meyer and Margaret Meyer Simpson.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Meche Meyer; his daughters, Lauren Meyer and Lindsey Meyer Tautkus; his son-in-law Joseph Tautkus; his granddaughters, Josie Anne Tautkus of Roberts Cove and Jane Marie Tautkus of Roberts Cove; his sisters, Mary Ann Meyer Reiners (Herman Reiners) of Roberts Cove and Kathleen Meyer Viator (Larry Viator) of New Iberia; his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Meyer of Roberts Cove, Pearl Meyer of Crowley and Betty Mitchell of Roberts Cove; and his close friend Greg Zaunbrecher. He is also survived by numerous sisters and brother in laws.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Gossen Funeral Home Inc. (504 N Polk St, Rayne, LA 70578). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Leo IV Catholic Church (7116 Roberts Cove Rd, Rayne, LA 70578).
