She was predeceased by: her parents, Bertrand Guidry and Elita Guidry; her former husband Leroy Spell; her husband Fredie Fontenot; her children-in-law, Dean Cummings and Jayme Spell; her stepson Mickey Fontenot; and her siblings, J. V. Guidry, B. Guidry, Bertrand Guidry, Nelson Guidry, Jack Guidry, Rufus Guidry, Mable Simon, Mary Leger and Theresa Simon.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Cummings of Rayne and Larry Spell of Huffman, Texas; her grandchildren, Brent Spell (Tanna) of New Braunfels, Michelle Cummings Autin (Kenneth) of Rayne and Ashley Cummings Derise (Dwayne) of Rayne; her great grandchildren, Rylie Spell Stieber (Colton) of Buda, Tyler Spell of New Braunfels, Layne Autin of Rayne and Meredith Derise of Rayne, Louisiana; her stepchildren, Linda Fontenot of Houston, Steve Fontenot of Houston, Kenneth Fontenot of Houston and Larry Fontenot of Youngsville; and her sister Patsy Brice of Duson, Louisiana.. She is also survived by many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the Gossen Funeral Home Inc. (504 N Polk St, Rayne, LA 70578). A rosary was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (401 S Adams Ave, Rayne, LA 70578). A burial was held on Thursday, April 30th 2026 at the St. Joseph Cemetery (400 E Betty St, Rayne, LA 70578).
