We bid farewell to Vernida Meche Credeur (Rayne, Louisiana), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 9, 2025 at the age of 89. Vernida touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Ovide "Gro" Credeur; her sons, Robert Douglas Credeur, Sr. of Alphonse and James Credeur; and her parents, Homer Meche (Marie Louise Douget) and Sable Meche Rivette (Joseph Nason Rivette).
She is survived by: her daughter Arlene Credeur Leger (Randall Leger); her grandchildren, Robert Credeur, Jr. (Lindsey Credeur), Ashley Credeur LeBlanc (Tyler LeBlanc), Al Credeur (Angie Credeur), Korey Leger (Ali Leger) and Brittany Leger (Courtney LeBlanc); her great grandchildren, Kobe Credeur, Graison Credeur, Peyton LeBlanc, Allie Credeur, Avery Credeur and Annie June Leger; and her daughters-in-law, Geraldine Faul Credeur and Val Spell.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gossen Funeral Home Inc. (504 N Polk St, Rayne, LA 70578). A rosary will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church (6110 Mire Hwy, Church Point, LA 70525). A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery (6110 Mire Hwy, Church Point, LA 70525).
