He is survived by: his children, Cathy Soileau (Eric), Christine Venem (Rod), Janie Berzas (Johnny), Missy Fontenot (Steve) and Danny Deshotel (Roxana); his grandchildren, Crystal, Alexie, Jessica, Catrina, Tasha, Chasity, Chad, Ched, Jordy, Cade and Abbi; his great grandchildren, Michelle, Aumara, Ayden, Oliver, Aubree, Abram, Issac, Ava, Gabe, Remi, Harlie, Presley, Lilly, Keegan, Kamryn, Maddi, Jase and Gus; his great great grandchild CJ; his sister Mary Ann Courville; his siblings-in-law, Lettell Young, Wilma Deshotels and Dianna Tate Fontenot; his wife Tarrel Tate Deshotel; his siblings, Jimmy Deshotels, Rita Fay McGee and Cecilia Pearl Young; and his grandson Brandon Berzas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Ardoin's Funeral Home (717 6th St, Mamou, LA 70554). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St Ann Catholic Church (716 6th St, Mamou, LA 70554). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the New St. Ann Cemetery (1863 Old Hwy 13, Mamou, LA 70554).
