He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Suzzanna DeGraw (Noel) of Sarasota Florida and Phillip Choi (Mandy) of Bradenton Florida; his mother Emily Katherine Rankin (Heffern) of Rayne Louisiana; his siblings, Carolyn Nero of Rayne Louisiana, Sonya Setty (Lloyd) of Hiram Georgia, Scot McElrath, Daniel Phifer (Debbi), Jim Phifer (Liz) of Destrehan Louisiana and Edward Phifer (Amanda) of Stroud Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Zara, Aiden Degraw and Kylo Choi; his father Richard Phifer; his stepfather Larry Rankin; his aunts and uncles, Patricia and Lefty Fineout; his brother-in-law Carroll Nero; and his sister Marina Phifer.
A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Louisiana National Cemetery (303 Mount Pleasant - Zachary Rd, Zachary, LA 70791). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at the same location.
