It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Shirley Elizabeth Simms of River Ridge, Louisiana, who passed away at the age of 84, on August 26, 2022. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Carey and Adele Carey; her siblings, Albert Carey, Michael Carey, Audrey Taylor and Mary Carey; her granddaughters, Keisha Bilbo, Karen Bilbo and Tiffany Page; and her friend Joan Bennett.

She is survived by: her children, Evelyn Simmons (Lucas), Emelda Bess of Bernard, BJ and Erica Bilbo; and her siblings, Leon Carey (Marjorie), John Carey (Rebecca) and Bertha King (Jessie). She is also survived by grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephew's other relatives and devoted friends.

Due to COVID – 19, facemask are encouraged.

In Lieu of flowers, donations are accepted to the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Sigma Philo Scholarship Fund, founded in Memoriam of Shirley Simms.
