He was predeceased by: his parents, E. H. Johnson Sr. and Lynette Copes Donohoe; his daughter Penny Johnson; his daughter-in-law Jeanie Johnson; his sisters, Gloria Jean, Elizabeth and Dale; and his parents-in-law, Malcum Hair and Hazel Hair.

He is survived by: his wife Opal Hair-Johnson; his children, Bridgett McCready, Trey Johnson and Brian Hair (Christa); his grandchildren, Keragan McCready (April), Kayli Leo (Scott) and Rylan Johnson; his great grandchildren, Payton, Audrey Grayce and Jace; and his sister-in-law Pat Hair. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter or the Food Pantry at the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
