He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy Ridgedell and Minnie Lou Ridgedell; his siblings, Richard, Donald, Gregory and Joyce; and his grandson Wendell "Scott" Day, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Ruby Faye Brown Ridgedell; his daughters, Anita Dunnington (Bee) and Loretta Day (Wendell); his sister Margaret Cutrer (J. P.); his grandchildren, Amy Raiford (Justin), Thomas Dunnington and Brittany Dunnington (Aaron); and his great grandchildren, Kamryn, Lauryn, Jaise, Bexley, Lili and Nikki.
