James Dickson wrote a sympathy message

“Dear family and friends of Bill Davis: I am sorry for your loss. I worked with Bill in the wildlife area at Louisiana Tech. I admired his knowledge, professionalism, and dedication. I was a guest at a special hunting event in Oklahoma, where the principals informed me of his athletic accomplishments, which were impressive. He was what a professor should be at Louisiana Tech, an icon. May he rest in peace. Jim Dickson”
