The memory of Birdie S Homer of Ruston, Louisiana, who passed away on February 3, 2026 at the age of 80, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Al Homer; her son Foy Scroggins (Bubba); and the father of her children Foy Scroggins, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Phil Scroggins and Tommy Scroggins (Niki); her grandchildren, Zack Scroggins, Tyler and Ashley; her great grandchildren, Zoey Cannon, Madison Cannon, Violet Scroggins, Beaux Scroggins, Hank Scroggins, Harper Scroggins and Josie Scroggins; and her siblings, Vaun Ceile Porter, Philip Hilderband, Hugh Hilderband and J. C. Hilderbrand.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hebron Baptist Church (3800 Mechanicsburg Rd, Bentonia, MS 39040). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, February 6th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Hilderbrand Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Birdie's memory be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 534 Null Road, Ruston, LA 71270.
