She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Al Homer; her son Foy Scroggins (Bubba); and the father of her children Foy Scroggins, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Phil Scroggins and Tommy Scroggins (Niki); her grandchildren, Zack Scroggins, Tyler and Ashley; her great grandchildren, Zoey Cannon, Madison Cannon, Violet Scroggins, Beaux Scroggins, Hank Scroggins, Harper Scroggins and Josie Scroggins; and her siblings, Vaun Ceile Porter, Philip Hilderband, Hugh Hilderband and J. C. Hilderbrand.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Birdie's memory be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 534 Null Road, Ruston, LA 71270.
