Claire Aycock Brown Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Claire Aycock Brown (Ruston, Louisiana), who passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Eunice Downes Aycock and Charles Sellers Aycock Sr.; and her siblings, Sarah and Sellers. She is survived by: her extended family Mary Moon Ball; her children, James Morrison Brown and Claire Anne Brown; her caregiver Juanita Phillips; her children, Dr. Anne McPherson (Scott) and George Brown; her grandchildren, James Alexander Brown (Maria), Claire Downes Whitehurst, Andrew Lawson Whitehurst (Hanna), Gardiner Allen Brown, Carlos Daniel Brown, Christian Russell Brown and Jonathan Muller; her great grandchildren, Dove, Flair, Zallia and Nehemiah; and her sister-in-law Sarah Ella Aycock. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews as well as the many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church in Ruston or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
