He is survived by : his children, David (Kellye), Cynthia Lee Hoogland and Michael John Hoogland (Carlyle); his wife Margaret Sims Dunn Hoogland; his grandsons, Jay and Will (Madison); his daughter-in-law Valerie; his children, Caroline (Brendan Lind) and Hunter (Olivia); his granddaughters, Sonia Beatty and Susan Hermes (Randal); his child Tucson Dunn (Natalie); his great grandchildren, Wrenly Blaise Hoogland, Hays Holt Hoogland and Marshall John Hoogland; and his siblings, Donald, Jimmy (Dorothy Etta) and Jane McDermott (Tom). He is also survived by children and grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church (1515 S Service Rd W, Ruston, LA 71270). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
