She is survived by: her friend Danny; her husband Danny Payton; her children, Marty Payton (Tracy) of Salisbury and Rachel Nelson (Matthew) of Ruston; her grandchildren, LeAnna Taylor (Colby) of Salisbury, Lacy Hines (Mike) of Chicopee, Lucas Payton (Taryn) of Salisbury, Justin Nelson (Ora) of Ruston, Kalea Trull (Braxton) of Ruston, Garrett Nelson of Ruston and Siler Nelson of Ruston; her brother Virgil Davis (Yvette) of Jonesboro, Louisiana; and her great-niece Micah Rigsby (Helen). She is also survived by "Grandma"; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home (2300 W California Ave, Ruston, LA 71270). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Temple Baptist Church (1515 S Service Rd W, Ruston, LA 71270). A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the New Hope Cemetery (266 Par Rd 501, Choudrant, LA 71227).
