We bid farewell to Jane Ellen Smart Pipes of Ruston, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 30, 2025 at the age of 79. Jane touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband George Russell Pipes of Ruston; her parents, James Lee and Maude Marie Smart of Ruston; her siblings, Brian Lee "Butch" Smart of Highlands and Helen Smart Neal of San Antonio, Texas; and her parents-in-law, George Alvin and Helen Burton Pipes of Dubberly.
She is survived by: her children, James Pipes (Monica) of Ruston, Jeff Pipes (Ann) of Dubach and Janis Smith (Adam) of Arlington, Texas; her grandchildren, Shawn Pipes (Candace) of Ruston, Amanda Pipes of Volga, Taylor Adelsperger (Ross) of Hanover, Katelyn Hinton (Caleb) of West Monroe, Emma Smith (Andrew) of Odessa and Jake Smith of Arlington, Texas; and her great grandchildren, Andrew Pipes, Palmer Hinton, Adaline Baker, Sam Adelsperger and Gavin Pipes.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Douglas Church (1642 LA-821, Ruston, LA 71270). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at the Douglas Cemetery (2170 LA-821, Ruston, LA 71270).
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Mrs. Pipes. Donating to this organization was near and dear to her heart.
