He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Tillman Sherrard and Jane Sherrard; his wife Bonnie; his children, Casey Sherrard (Heather) and Jenny Sherrard; his grandchildren, Cassie Bearden, Dylan Bearden and Isabel Sherrard; his niece Caitlin Schmidt; his sister-in-law Dwanna Schmidt; and his mother-in-law Lurline Riser Farmer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
