It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Quintana Daneen Atkins of Ruston, Louisiana, who passed away on May 1, 2025, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents-in-law, William Lavon Atkins and Mary Patricia Atkins; and her nephew Cody Bray. She is survived by: her husband Elliott Atkins; her children, Mary Speller (James) of Calhoun and Parker Atkins (Miranda) of Ruston; her granddaughters, Charlie Speller and Maisie Speller of Calhoun; her parents, William "Daddy Bill" Barber and Bennie "Mawmaw" Barber of Calvin; and her sisters, Quanah Hatten (Robbie) of Dry Prong and Quanita "Pete" Gaar (Shelby) of Dodson. She is also survived by five nephews; three nieces; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Owens Memorial Chapel (2300 W California Ave, Ruston, LA 71270). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Vernon Cemetery.
