She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl; her grandsons, Bruce and Peter Mitchell, Jr.; her husband Peter Mitchell, Sr.; her children, Lucinda Adams (Clyde), Bruce (Linda), Cherrie (Sean), Dameon and Peter Mitchell, Jr.; her sister Josephine Kennedy; her siblings-in-law, Evelyn, Faye Isom, Cynthia, Lorraine Mitchell, Leo Mitchell and Hebert Taylor; her godchildren, Kendall Isom, Audrey Oubre, Roxanne Freeman and Wanda Steib; her friends, Laura Lewis, Mary Lee Nelson and Lydia Small; her siblings, Alice Steib, Ethel Howard, John Jr., Willie Sr., Cleveland and Norris Isom; her parents-in-law, Ozeme Mitchell, Sr. and Alberta Moody; her brothers-in-law, Paul Steib (Joanne), Barry Kennedy, Oregan Howard, Sr. and Roy Sr.; her godson Ozeme Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Marie Lewis, Dorothy Sheppard, Marva Lebouf, Albertha Thomas, Barbara Mitchell and Josephine Isom; and her friends, Marlene Oubre and Lucille Landry. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (6613 LA-18, St James, LA 70086). A rosary will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
