He was predeceased by: his parents, Trudie Clayton and Curvie McPherson; his son Lonnie McPherson; and his brothers, Joe and Roby McPherson.

He is survived by: his children, Christina McPherson-Roger (Joseph) of Carencro, Barbara Albrecht (Georg) of Germany, Robert McPherson (Nikki) of Rayne and Johnny McPherson of Tex; and his siblings, Louise Milligan, Velma Barker, Judy MacDuff, Tommy Clayton and Alton Clayton. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
