He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Benson and Viola Glass Horst Benson (Melissa Jane Benson); and his siblings, Rachael Perkins and Kenneth Dale Benson. He is survived by: his siblings, Betty J. Kennedy of Springhill, LA, Tommy Benson of Sarepta, LA and Robert Charles Benson (Teresa) of Sarepta, LA; and his children, Rodney Paul Coffman, Jason Duane Benson, Lucas Earl Benson, Laycen Benson, Dana Phillips (Shawn), Melissa Woods (Shannon) and Stevie Tompkins (Jeff). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, countless cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home - Springhill (304 First Street, Northwest Springhill, LA 71075). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
