We announce the death of Barbara Nelson Thomas (Shreveport, Louisiana), who passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 92. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Peyton Nelson and Sadie Mathis Nelson. She is survived by: her daughters, Sadie M. Banks, Diane Moore and Martha Carson; her former spouse Stephanie (Andrew Shepherd); her children, Dom Alex, Michael, Melton Seyda, Natalie and Daniel Brown (Autumn); her granddaughters, Olivia and Sadie; her husband David Banks; her children, David and Sondra; and her grandchildren, Ryann, Cody, Alexys and Brienna.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Aulds Funeral Home (7849 E Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Stonewall Cemetery.
