With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Donald Ray Whitfield Sr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Donald left this world on August 20, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Norita Whitfield; his parents, William A. Whitfield, Sr. and Lillie C. Whitfield; and his siblings, Charles "Wayne" Whitfield, William Whitfield, Jr., Jack Whitfield, Mack Whitfield, Minerva Whitfield Little and Rita Whitfield Stevens.
He is survived by: his children, Tracey Whitfield Rhodes, Donald R. Whitfield, Jr. and David A. Whitfield (Cheryl); his granddaughters, Kelsey Darsi (Vasu) and Eryn Rhodes (Mitchell Williams); and his great grandchildren, Avinash Darsi and Vidya Darsi.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 25th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home (2500 Southside Dr, Shreveport, LA 71118). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 at the Forest Park West Cemetery (4400 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA 71109).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Don's honor to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
