We announce the death of Michael F. Schempp of Shreveport, Louisiana, born in Bethesda, Maryland, who passed away on October 19, 2026, at the age of 77. Michael will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Michael will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Michael will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Michael’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard F. Schempp Jr. and Catherine D. Schempp. He is survived by: his wife Rosetta Stoddard Schempp; his son Michael C. Anthony Schempp; and his brother Lt. Cmdr Leonard F. Schempp III. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St Pius X Catholic Church (4300 N Market St, Shreveport, LA 71107). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
