With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Walker Bloomer of Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on January 20, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her husband Jerry McDonald Bloomer; her parents, E. Earl Walker Sr. and Juanita Faye Brown; her mother-in-law Helen Marie Wilson Bloomer; her brother Eugene Walker Jr.; and her uncle Dr. Darrell Overdyke (Professor Emeritus).

She is survived by : her son David (Pam); her sister-in-law Julia Walker (Judy); her pet B. While; and her caregivers, Janet Ebarb Peerson, Angie, Kristin, Ebony, Allison, Julie, Jane, Brook, Chris Hough and Melissa Ramsey.

“I am very sorry to hear that Shirley Bloomer passed away. I worked with Shirley at Boot’s/BASF for many years. Shirley was very professional and well respected in our company. She managed many people and was an amazing manager. I am thankful that I got to call her my friend. Her concern for others and dedication made her truly a joy to work with. Sending thoughts and prayers to David and Pam. She is gone but will not be forgotten. God bless.”
