He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Wayne H. Speer II of Houston, TX and Catherine Speer; his wife Hannah Jones; his in-laws, Ossie and Zeddie Jones of Roswell, GA; and his brother-in-law John Freeman of Fredericksburg, TX..
He is survived by: his children, Georgia Speer (Woodus Humphrey) of Shreveport, Wayne Henry Speer IV (Missy) of Austin and Travis Jones Speer of Shreveport; his grandchildren, Hannah Schuttler (John), Catherine Parker (Adrian), Grace Parker (Levi), Mia Parker, Wayne Henry Speer V, Griffin Speer and Sawyer Speer; his great grandchild Georgia Schuttler; his sisters, Cathey Speer Graham (Harry) of Midland, TX and Sherry Speer Freeman of Fredericksburg, TX; his nibling Bubba; and his caregivers, Joyce Hunter, Maude Warner, Brianna White, Dominique White and Renee Sugg of Joseph's Hospice. He is also survived by his three children, and his role as Big Daddy to his seven grandchildren and his great-granddaughter.
A memorial service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral (908 Rutherford St, Shreveport, LA 71104).
