He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Gunnells and Mabel Gunnells; his siblings, Huey of William, Charles and Catherine Bowman; his brother-in-law John Bowman; and his nephews, Tony and Mark.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Lacour; his children, Tony, Mark, Lynn and Chad; his grandchildren, Mark Anthony, Logan, Josie and Tony; his son-in-law Tate; his aunt Carolyn; his uncle Harold (Josie); his sister Pettie Sue; his niece Kimberly (Lynn); Kase, Cohen, Clay and Banx. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers and sister, friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:45 AM. A Mass was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Catholic Church (657 Main St, Simmesport, LA 71369). A burial was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gunnells Family Cemetery (21330 LA-417, Lettsworth, LA 70756). A rosary was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 at 6:30 PM.
