He was predeceased by: his parents, Abel Brown Sr. and Henrietta Ducote Brown; his wife Donna L. Reeve; his close friend Shirley Juneau; and his half-brother Raymond Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Abel M. Brown III (Suzanne), Henrietta Hollaway, Mike Brown (Deborah), Jack Brown (Dottie), Kathy Perschall (Kenny) and Donna Naquin (Bobby); his stepmother Anna Mae Brown; and his siblings, Lionel Brown, John Brown, Patrick Brown, William Brown, Daniel Brown and Virginia Hodges. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
