He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Cappel and Jewel Cappel; his wife Ann Abney Cappel; and his grandson Fred Byron Richardson IV. He is survived by: his children, Carl Glenn Cappel Jr. (Lisa), Julie Ann Cappel and Katie Cappel Maxsoe (Ronnie); his brothers, David Cappel and Lance Cappel; his grandchildren, Lauren Cappel, Barret Swan, Annabel Richardson, Brenna Swan, Hans Maxsoe and Jillian Maxsoe; and his great grandchild Kyler Legaspi. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
