He is survived by : his wife Luz Minerva Munson; and his children, David Michael Munson, Jr., Michelle Lynn Munson and Melissa Munson John. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Honaker Funeral Home (1751 Gause Blvd W, Slidell, LA 70460).
