He is survived by: his girlfriend Rebecca Jobe; his children, Eric Strother, Dominick Gioia Jr., Jason Gioia Sr. (Chelsea), Malissa Gioia and Justin "Buddy" Gioia Sr. (Dorothy); his grandchildren, Devan Young, Amiyah Gioia, Jason Gioia Jr. and Justin Gioia Jr.; his siblings, Joseph Gioia, Jr. (Lou), Michael Gioia, Sr. (Tessie), Adeline Walsh, Linda Hughes and Penny Erato (Paul); and the mother of his children Madeline "Annie" Gioia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
The military honors will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (34888 Grantham College Dr, Slidell, LA 70460). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ln Hughes Funeral Services (21400 S I - 12 Service Rd, Ponchatoula, LA 70454).
