It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Georgette (Jo) Veazey Shields Nunez of Slidell, Louisiana, who passed away on January 27, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Leverson Nunez; her parents, John Andrew Veazey and Julienne Dyson Veazey; and her siblings, Henrietta Verret, Jarrell Veazey, Emery Veazey, Brunette Ockman, Carson Veazey, Alberteen Adamson and John Veazey.
She is survived by : her children, Charlotte Gaar (David), Jim Shields (Margaret) and John Shields (Margaret); her grandchildren, Ira Gaar (Brandee), Noah Gaar, Laini Gaar, Micah Gaar (Ivette), Jason Shields, Matthew Shields (Megan), Eric Shields (Irene), Nancy Eunice (Michael), Gretta Roberts (Kurt) and Julie Hess; and her great grandchildren, Emma Gaar, Hannah Gaar, Lilly Gaar, Noah Shields, Cooper Shields, Jack Shields, Hannah Shields, Evelyn Shields, Lillian Roberts, Finn Hess, Ruth Eunice and Gabe Gaar.
